ABOUT OUR OWNER
Tom Morelock’s interest in wildlife began before he was in kindergarten. He was wading through creeks, ponds, and swamps, chasing frogs, snakes, turtles, salamanders, and any other living thing that lived in the wild. By sixth grade, he had earned a special science award created just for him for bringing in so many live specimens for other students to see and learn about. As soon as he got his driver’s license in 1979, he began trapping muskrats for a living. From there, he progressed to mink, raccoon, beaver, fox, coyotes, bobcats, and river otter.
Tom was elected to the Indiana State Trappers Association Board of Directors in 1992, the National Trappers Association Board in 1994, and elected as President for the Indiana State Trappers Association in 2001.
Tom obtained his Wildlife Nuisance License in 1999 and began working with landowners to assist them with their animal problems. Since then, he has assisted homeowners and home-owner associations in Marion County, Indiana, and surrounding counties with muskrat, beaver, raccoon, and coyote issues. He is regarded as a premier trapper who will complete the job at a reasonable cost and is fair in his approach to ongoing wildlife management issues. He is frequently requested to teach trapper education and nuisance wildlife classes for the Indiana DNR. He was hired as an assistant instructor at the Fur Takers of America professional trappers’ college in 2021. His love and passion for wildlife and the outdoors are second only to his love and passion for his family.
